LEVEL 2 CHARGING SOLUTIONS

Level 2 is the workhorse of EV charging for properties where drivers park for longer durations. EVOLT deploys EVOLT Type 2 (Level 2) platforms designed for predictable charging windows, access control, and scalable port counts.

Overview

Level 2 charging is designed for predictable dwell time: workplaces, multifamily, hotels, mixed-use, and municipal parking. EVOLT engineers the electrical backbone for expansion and uses smart load sharing to maximize ports within available capacity. Typical charging windows are 2–5 hours depending on vehicle and available power.

Workplace Multifamily Hotels Downtown Parking Employee Charging

Benefits

Expands amenity value for tenants, employees, and customers without requiring DC power levels.

Optimizes electrical capacity with dynamic load sharing and site-level scheduling.

Supports access control, reporting, and network monitoring for predictable operations.

Primary Platform

EVOLT Type 2
Extremely efficient chargers capable of 19.2 kW per hour, which can charge most vehicles from empty to full in approximately 3.125 hours—nearly three times quicker than standard 7.7 kW chargers. They support simultaneous charging for two vehicles without power loss.
Key Specifications

LEVEL 3 DC FAST CHARGING

DC fast charging is built for throughput: short dwell, high turnover, and strong driver expectations. EVOLT deploys Level 3 solutions including Autel MaxiCharger DC Quick, Nidec DirectPowerPS, and battery-buffered architectures like Jule EVHub. Power levels, connector mix, and dispenser configurations are tailored to site throughput and utility constraints.

Overview

EVOLT designs DC fast sites as complete systems: utility strategy, switchgear, power cabinets, dispensers, networking, signage, lighting, and long-term serviceability. Power and dispenser count scale to match demand.

BESS SOLUTIONS (BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE)

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) help EV charging sites deploy faster and operate smarter. EVOLT integrates storage and microgrid controls (including ELM Microgrid) to manage demand, reduce grid stress, and support resilient commercial energy performance.

Overview

BESS stores electricity on-site and delivers it when your facility or chargers need it most. This improves project feasibility for grid-constrained deployments, supports staged buildouts, and smooths power draw for better economics. EVOLT aligns storage with intelligent controls so chargers and site loads operate within available capacity.

Grid-constrained sites Peak shaving Load management Backup power Faster deployment

Benefits

Reduces utility demand charges by shaving peaks and smoothing charger load profiles.

Unlocks faster charger deployment when utility upgrades have long lead times.

Improves resilience with backup power strategies for critical operations.

Grid Support
Buffer charging peaks, reduce feeder stress, and improve site power quality while supporting utility coordination and interconnection goals.
Energy Management
Schedule charging, prioritize critical loads, and optimize storage dispatch based on tariffs, demand, and operational requirements.
ROI Benefits
Lower demand costs, protect margins on charging sessions, and expand capacity without immediately expanding the utility service.

Battery Platforms

Jule EVHub
A battery-integrated system (available in 220kWh, 440kWh, and 660kWh configurations) that enables high-power DC quick charging from existing low-power utility services. This architecture "shaves" demand to avoid expensive utility peak charges and supports up to 1.2MW of total output.
ELM Microgrid
125 kW / 522 kWh lithium-ion battery energy storage systems with integrated safety and fire suppression.

Integration with EV Charging

Grid-constrained deployments: use storage to reduce required utility upgrade size and accelerate go-live.

Utility demand reduction: reduce peak demand exposure and smooth load to match rate structures.

Commercial resilience: support critical site loads and operational continuity during outages where appropriate.

Future-proofing: stage DC fast expansion with storage as a bridge until grid upgrades are complete.
